For Ti 83+, 84+, there is one possibility:
I remember some Ti 83+ programs that were blocked if used more than a week.
(That program can still be linked between two calculators if bought)
That's the equivalent of evaluation period for shareware. (so there would be two versions of the same program, but one would be blocked)
Thought, a good programmer can use your program easily, but 83+ programmers are less than 3% of students...

If you don't want your program's source to be read, you should translate your program to an application via BasicBuilder. (http://www.ticalc.org/archives/files/fileinfo/321/32127.html)
You should contact Texas Instrument, because they make applications to be paid.

What does your basic program? (I can tell you can earn money with it...)
