La documentation de Intel indique que Thunderbolt multiplexe un signal DisplayPort 1.1a et deux canaux PCI-Express 2x… Mais c'est bien l'un en plus de l'autre n'est-ce pas ?
De même, en suivant ce document, les deux canaux PCI-X 2x correspondent à 20 Gb/s au total, non ? (Je suppose qu'il y a en moyenne deux bits par octet pour la correction d'erreur ?) Et est-ce qu'un périphérique peut s'attribuer la totalité des deux canaux, ou est-il limité à un ? Ça l'avenir nous le dira je suppose…Enfin bref, la documentation intel à mes yeux sous-entend clairement qu'il y a un débit de 10.8 Gb/s plus un débit de 10 Gb/s plus un débit de 10 Gb/s, soit 30.8 Gb/s au total…

Despite what the tech spec pages say, Thunderbolt actually has up to 20 Gbps available in each direction (full duplex), not 10 Gbps. While the Thunderbolt specification talks about 10 Gbps to and from a host, there are actually two channels over the same cable: one dedicated to DisplayPort for video, and the other for PCI Express data. Apple and Intel are likely sticking with the 10 Gbps rating because if you measured the throughput to a hard drive, for example, it would never go over 10 Gbps thanks to using only the PCI Express channel.
