Targetting PedroM 0.82 Alpha 2 - 07/05/2008 @ 09:54:33
I have done a tiny (but better) front-end for MAYLIB for PedroM. It is not intended to be the final front end, but at least it is much more user-friendly than the previous one. Here are some screenshots:

img
We have started PedroM and run the expression evaluator.
img
Some basic expand commands.
img
A substitution of x in the latest reported result.
img
A rationalization and a factorization (not it only performs square free factorization, and all polynomials of degree 1)
img
Trigonemetry collect
img
Float evaluation, diff and gcd.

PedroM 0.82 alpha 2 should be released soon. The first beta is planned for August. The release of PedroM 0.82 should be in September.

About the PedroM and HW4 problem, as per Extended, the problem is only when you sent the OS throught the USB cable on titanium HW4, not if you sent it using the classic cable.

PedroM and HW4 - 06/03/2008 @ 19:30:38
Another news about PedroM. It is about its HW4 compatibility (for TI-89 TItanium). As far as I know, HW3 and HW4 are very similar, so since PedroM supports HW3 (without any USB support), it should support HW4 too.
However, HW4 calculators come with a new boot code, which doesn't work with FreeFlash (Thanks to Scott G. for reporting this problem). Extended (the author of FreeFlash) is currently working on this issue.
So maybe we will have soon PedroM on a HW4. I am waiting for this day :)

PedroM VS AMS - 05/31/2008 @ 23:51:21
Here is another comparison between PedroM 0.82 alpha2 (currently under development) and AMS. The used version of AMS was the latest V3.10 on V200.
The goal is to compute the series of tan(tanh(x))-tanh(tan(x)) to a high enough order so that a non null difference appears (Order 7).
First of all, let's see what AMS does after a fresh reboot (ie. all the RAM is free). It gives us this answer after more than twelve hours of computing:
img
I was tired of waiting, so I break the computation. Note that it should return a 'MEMORY' error if you wait long enough.

Then, let's do it with PedroM with its new series function. It gives us the right answer after less than 1 second:
img
Of course you could say that it is unfair since PedroM doesn't use the taylor expansion like AMS but its native series function. So let's use the taylor expansion on PedroM too:
img
PedroM gives us the answer in less than 4 seconds.

Let's say that PedroM does a good job on it :)
Note that the current implementation of series is far from optimal too.

[Of course, it is a well chosen example.]

News from PedroM 0.82 - 03/29/2008 @ 13:06:08
PedroM 0.82 is currently under development and will be released when it is done ((c) & tm). There aren't many new things done for the project itself, but the end user may see a lot of change.
What have been done are: fix bugs, use of ld-tigcc to build PedroM, better modularity of PedroM so that it will be easier for other people to modify PedroM and optional integration of GMP , MPFR and MAYLIB.

Here are some screenshots of the current state:
img img img
img
The command 'zs' is just a quick command I have made to help me in the integration of the 3 mentionned libraries. I don't plan to keep it in the final release. The size of the ROM is 488735 bytes (with all 3 libraries included), and less than 128000 bytes without.
Here is a tiny comparaison between AMS and PedroM:
img img img

(The size of the result doesn't fit inside the screen and the CPU time is wrong - it always return 0).

[EDIT] : You can get an alpha 1 here (Please don't send it to a real calculator).
You can post any remarks or problems here

Release of ExpOS 1.0.0 - 11/03/2007 @ 21:40:51
Due to the time that PpHd takes to update PreOS to GPLv3, I have made a new kernel released under GPL v3: ExpOS, the kernel of the experts! It supports all the features of PreOS (in particular, all the ramcalls that PreOS supports are supported by ExpOS). You can download it in our archive section, as usual (here).

Cleanup of the archives - 10/13/2007 @ 01:17:28
I have made some clean up in our archive section (Move outdated files in Old directory, create new directories). If you see any any problems, please tell us.

Some news and Preos 1.0.5 - 09/18/2007 @ 22:04:32
At least some news and a released program. No it isn't Chrono Fantasy Beta 2. It isn't Christmas yet!
It is another update of PreOS. This new version fixes one bug with can occur in some complex programs (it doesn't happen in any released programs). You can download the fix here. Feel free to report bugs or posts comments in our message boards, here .

PedroM 0.82 is currently waiting for an update of tigcc (ld-tigcc support of data section in flash os target) to support much bigger programs (Currently ports of GMP, MPFR and a top secret T3 library have been made but aren't 100% functional).
I have also clean up the source code of SMA. If you are interested in a release of the code of SMA under GPL, post it in our message board!
For Chrono Fantasy beta 2, it will be released is as soon as it is finished (it isn't Duke Nukem Forever, so it should be released one day, no?)

Sorry for the delay... (bis) - 01/21/2007 @ 17:19:54
... but I still hate winters!

Not much to say. I still plan to release a new version of SMA (maybe under GPL ?). The development tools and all the build process has been ported to linux. New maps have been started. The development of CF continues: the pseudo random map generator has been terminated, so that we can have very huge map without a huge consummation of archive memory. The new fight engine starts to work. Still many things to do.

Have a nice winter!

HW4 - 04/08/2006 @ 16:35:42
It seems TI has released a HW4 calculator (see http://www.yaronet.com/posts.php?sl=&h=3&s=79898#3 ). Unfortanetely, PreOS doesn't seem to work on this new hardware, and currently nobody knows what are the changes of this hardware.
By the way, I should release a patchlevel version of genlib soon.

[UPDATE]: Another tester has succeeded installing PreOS on a HW4. So I don't know if it works or not. Please if you have a TI89 Titanium HW4, try preos 1.0.4, and report the result. Thanks.

GenLib 1.1.0 - 10/30/2005 @ 17:56:11
GENLIB 1.1.0 has been released. Genlib is now under LGPL (The shared part) and under BSD (The static part). See documentation for details and explanation. This new version fixes also two bugs (keymapping on V200 and a bug in setfilter). Check our download section to get it now!
