It would be smart for both groups to have one git repository and maintain their own branches - that would help me out.... Then I could have my own "branch" and merge with both code bases easily. Sometimes people have to agree to disagree As long as it seems that both projects will be occasionally taking patches from each other, might as well make it easy.
