Well I've been back to that subject last weeks, with some cleaner stuff:

Still needs more work tho, large sized boards are an expensive hobby
As for the cards I just used an old laptop with memory card explorer software. I guess you could use some cheap PCI PCMCIA board if you don't have that, but never tested thoses.
