hello, i just bought a Ti-89 Titanium, and i found some programs online that i would like to send to the calculator, but they were programs designed to run on the original ti-89.

my calulator has HardWare version 4.0 , OS version 3.10, 7/18/2005.

1) is GhostBuster the same type of thing as PreOs, if so, which one is better,?

2)how do i upload programs to my calculator, do i use the software that the calculator came with? or do i use something else?

3)what is HW3patch? do i still need to use that patch if i have Hardware version 4?

1) No Ghostbuster is not like PreOs. GhostBuster can patch _nostub programs (ie programs that don't require a kernel - such as PreOs) to make them working on Titanium HW3 (but it may not work on HW4).

2) You can use the official software.

3) Actually, we don't know if hw3patch or preos are really working on HW4. hw3patch seems to be ok (cf http://p080.ezboard.com/ftichessteamhqfrm10.showMessage?topicID=198.topic ). Try to install PreOs and report here what happens.

Preos 1.0.4 has been reported to work on HW4.

ok well i uploaded hw3patch, and it seems to work fine, and i uploaded preos and installed it and i got no errors from what i can see. i used the program Ti-Connect to upload it.

so far i have used the calculator alot and it has worked excellently, i even bought a keyboard for it so i can type in notes for class. and im thinking about getting that program called Calc made easy, because even though the built in calculus utilities are amazing, calculus can never be made easy enough!
