Adding Apps to Emulator - Page 1

How does one add the Apps in the subject to the Virtual 2.5? Does it require the Virtual TI 3.0α and
archiving (I am a beginner). Does one use the 2.5 rom? I am taking a Stats class. Some students
have bought calculators online, but shipping can take 6-8 days. They want to do homework while
they wait, on their computers. The instructor said she thought the emulator didn't work. I have
it working but don't know if TRIOLA9E and CtlgHelp can be added and used also. I mean this to
be a new topic so as to respect the language policy. I am not sure where my first post wound up.

You should use TiLem instead of Virtual TI. Virtual TI is really outdated and don't support everything correctly...

But I'm not sure that TiLem support windows or anything else than linux...

Thanks Godzil for the assistance. In fact, TilEm exists for Windows.
Cyberdiction, if you still want to use Virtual TI, you need a ROM dump from your TI 83+ (and NOT a TI 83+SE). Otherwise, VTI won't work.

If you have a Windows 95/98 computer still lying around, you can try CalcEm. I haven't tried it, but you can tell about your experience on it.

Thanks for the advice. I have the rom, it comes with 2.5. I have been able to add programs
by right-clicking and using the F10 option, "Send file to Vti" but I have not been able to get
Apps added, such as CtlgHelp? The Vti3.0 version seems to add Apps but not programs and
the save configuration is disabled so that I have to add them again each time I use it.

Well, it's true that VTI 3 is an alpha, so...Also, Rusty Wagner is said to be employed by TI or another entreprise that don't allow him to reveal what he's doing. I guess this also applies to VTI.

That's why you should try one of the other emulators, just to be sure.
