Hello to all!!!

I have 2 falcon030's and I have the following problem:

After doing a couple of resets, the machine keeps reseting all the time,
and it cannot boot up. It is like I am pressing and releasing the reset button in intervals of 0.5
seconds. This happens as I power up the machine. and it cannot go further. Blank screen and no bootup logo.

Can you help? What might have gone wrong? Something in the reset circuit (capacitor or diode/resistance)???
I have changed psu and ram board but it does not seem to be the case....

Any help would be greatly appreciated....

Thanks in advance,
Panos

P.S. Sorry again that I can't write in French.

Hi !!

No problem for writing in English wink

Perhaps Zerosquare or SCPCD can help you, else perhaps contact Rodolphe Czuba

who is surely of the best hardware man for questions about Falcon.

Hello Panos,

I know that if my video cord is too long then my Falcon keeps resetting.

If you use a scart cable, be sure to not use multi scart adapter.

Good luck...

I had recently changed the NV RAM chip. The new chip I installed was faulty and this strange (reseting, unable to boot) result was because of the chip. The machine was also behaving the same when I removed the chip from its socket. I replaced with a good one and everything came back to normal.

TIP: When you change the NV RAM chip, do a HARDWARE RESET of the NV RAM (Alt+Ctrl+right Shift+Undo) during bootup screen (Atari logo) because otherwise the system does not accept new settings, besides date/time.
