Hey everyone! Every time I pack for a new assignment, I tell myself I'm going to travel lighter, and somehow I still end up bringing things I barely use. I'm trying to figure out what's actually worth taking when you'll only be somewhere for a few months. What are the things you always pack, no matter where you're going?

Hi! After a few moves, my list has gotten much shorter. I always bring comfortable work shoes, a small set of kitchen basics, my favorite pillow, a few things that make temporary housing feel familiar, and anything I know would be annoying to replace.

I also try to have the practical side sorted before packing. I've used https://tlcallied.com/ when looking into allied health travel assignments, and having information about locations and housing makes it easier to know what I'll actually need. My rule now is simple: if I can easily buy it after arriving, it probably doesn't need to take up space in my car.

I'm probably the opposite because I don't mind bringing a little extra if I'm driving. Since I'm going to be there for several weeks, I'd rather have the things that make my daily routine comfortable than buy everything again after I arrive.

I usually take some kitchen items, bedding, a few decorations, workout stuff, and clothes for different weather. It takes longer to pack, but having familiar things around helps temporary housing feel less temporary to me.
