Encore un vieux de la veille qui s'en va :
The district courts of Tokyo were not bad enough dudes to save Data East from bankruptcy. As theorized by my post last month, Data East is indeed kaput. They ran into financial trouble in '99, struggling with a near 2.8 million dollar debt, but promised to restructure and return to profitability. Unfortunately, come April 2003, they filed for bankruptcy. The papers went through on June 25th, and the news was distributed today. They tried to sell negative-ion generators to save themselves during this period, which is just terribly depressing. At least they live on in pillaged-license re-releases. Thanks to the MMCafe and AM Press for the news.
