Mitsui & Co. is one of Japan's leading trading companies with an extensive global network with offices in over 200 cities in more than 90 countries.
Acting as GP32 Europe, Mitsui has big plans with the GP32 system. Mitsui, Gamepark, and also Lik Sang will have some official as well as unofficial surprises in the next couple of weeks (count Lik Sang in for both, official as well as unofficial). Mitsui plans to announce prices and European lineup within 14 days. There is also a project going on which will make you gamers of the 80's and 90's very happy. More info about it cannot be revealed at the moment.
A release date of October/November is targeted for Europe. "There are plans to start through with a handful of titles, for a very affordable price", announced Marketing Manager Markus Heiss in private talks with Lik Sang. "Games are being translated into 4 languages right now, and licenses for lots of new titles never seen on GP32 before have been acquired". Official website will be at gp32europe.com.
Mitsui shows off GP32 with translated firmware and Gamepark is monitoring how the western gamers are attracted by the most powerful handheld system on the market. The GP32 has previously only been shown off at Koreas Pavilion at the Tokyo Game Show 2001, as well as on the E3 2002 in the Kentia Hall, which is more for professionals. Lik Sang has been present at both occasions.
