Encore une fois un changement de taille, il devient à nouveau commercial...
Le communiqué de Crimson Fire :
To make a long story short, Firestorm gbaZ will be released later today as a commercial product for $19.99 as was intended in the first place.
We have made great progress adding sound support, and it is about 80% done (it "works" but it's still a bit buggy and noisy). But here's the catch: we've run into a serious CodeWarrior compiler bug that is now preventing us from releasing the GBA portion of the emulator right now. Basically a file that takes 17s to compile under VC++ takes 2 hours and over 3 GB of memory before it crashes under CodeWarrior. We have to quickly either switch everything over to the gcc compiler (which has it's own headaches) or convert it to assembly ourselves (ugh). We of course tried to split the code up so it would compile, but it was like 4x as slow and unplayable. (we can provide the technical details for the curious)
I know what you all are thinking ("what BS, it's just not done, it hasn't been done for the past two weeks") so that's why we are providing the simulator version for developers to test out. Basically it's the exact same code except compiled with VC++ for the PC, instead of CodeWarrior for the ARM processor.
Since you have all been waiting so long because of the legal issues, I've decided to just put the GB and GBC portions out today while we finish fixing things.
Yes, it is a commercial product again. Unfortunately I came to realize that we would quickly go broke otherwise. We are prepared to take on Nintendo but it will cost a lot of money...
