redangel > Well, if you want to translate the French adjective "végétal" into an English adjective, you can say vegetal (the "opposite" of animal) but according to the dictionary it's rather formal (ie mainly used for biology, I suppose, but I think *this* was the meaning I was looking for ^^), or vegetable (mainly used in such phrases as "vegetable oil") or else plant .
