Strange Problem: Red Water light - Page 1

I have a strange problem in my BX16v.

Riding at some rotation (normaly at 140km/h), it lights me the red light of water. If i slightly raise the foot of the pedal of the accelerator, the light is erased. The strange thing is that the car does not lose any water, and the level is ok.

I have already changed a sensor that is underneath the deposit of water, and also already changed one petty cash that detects the level water wich is located in the right side of the radiator, but the problem continues...

A friend mine also has this problem in her BX16v..

Somebody knows what it is?

J'ai un problème étrange sur ma BX16v.

à une certaine vitesse (normalement à 140km/h), le voyant rouge
de l'eau s'allume . Si je lève légèrement le pied de la
pédale de l'accélérateur, la lumière s'eteind . La chose
étrange est que la voiture ne perd pas d'eau, et le niveau est
correct.

J'ai déjà changé une sonde qui est sous le vase d'expansion, et
également déjà changé une petite piéce qui détecte le niveau de l'eau située sur le coté du radiateur, mais le
problème continue...

un de mes amis a également ce problème avec sa BX16v..

Quelqu'un sait d ou ca peut provenir ?

I have found this problem in my (2) BX16V too.

It seems to be a problem with the principal wire of the ignition who goes to the "delco head".

Try to isolate the wire of the temp sensor near this ignition wire, and test it !

In my case, i have replaced this wire and no problems after !

Et bien j'ai eu ça sur mes 2 16S.

C'est en fait un manque d'isolation entre le fil principal d'allumage qui sort de la bobine et qui va à la tête de delco.

Il se produit des petits arcs électriques entre ce fil et le fil de température d'eau qui passe tout près ou parfois dessus. Il suffit de le séparer du fil d'allumage et ça le fait moins.

J'ai changé le fil d'allumage et ça a disparu ! Tu peux aussi déplacer le passage du fil de temp d'eau ou mieux l'isoler.

I also had the same problem in August (also on a Bx16v)

Ouais mais là y'a un truc que je ne comprends pas bien. On parle bien ici du niveau et non de la température d'eau. En quoi ça joue ? Ce n'est pas le même voyant. Moi c'était l'humidité qui était en cause...
