Seeing the latest boohoo at jaguar interactive, I got the following to say:
I am no die-hard jag fan in the sense that I read and post here every day. I am an atari-fan though and I happened to get hold of a modded jaguar (jag-serv) a while back ago though, and I'm trying to learn to code good on it.
I got two serious projects going on it, one beeing a shootemup that I was more or less given a few years back with all sources and everything, originally made for the atari STE that I'm slowly adapting for the jag, the other beeing a a hacked version of civilization that I'm trying to adapt for the jag.
A month ago all of the posts here were "friendly", many times of no real use for anyone, just talking about this and that. Adding to the friendly atmosphere.
Now that is different.
I don't know why, and to be honest, I'm not the person to really care, but what I know is that I don't like it.
Some ppl talk about copyrights, some of what is right or wrong. Again, I don't really care. And I don't understand why you care.
The jaguar as a platform is D E A D. Dead. Why some people try to defend copyrights on this platform is beyond me. And defending it only hurts the ppl interested in this platform.
To repeat that, I say the Jaguar is DEAD.
Now, there is some people, like me, that still codes on it, I don't expect anything for it, and I do it for fun. I honestly don't care about copyrights on the jag anymore, and I've copied the few things I've been able to copy.
Now, the jaguar is DEAD (Ooops I said it again), and no sane person would invest money in making games for it, still, some of you advocate buying originals.
You fight anyone making the bin's available to the public, you fight ppl trying to make a working emulator, and you fight the very thought of making copies available to anyone.
Well, I got news for you. Jaguar is a 64-bit gaming console. Up until recently, it's been very, very hard to make an emulator for it. But for every new generation of CPUs that emerges, it get's easier. In 6 months, everyone will play the emulator. Now, ppl have to play the real thing.
Your obstruction of a real underground community of the jaguar contributes to it's death.
Some of you (actually, most of you) don't realise it is the numbers that count! The more people that plays jaguar, the bigger the scene gets! I saw a post by one really big f*cking IDIOT somewhere that were boasting that he had like 5 or 6 complete jag setups, with all games & everything. Well, my reply is:
Have fun. I hope you enjoy the jaguar with noone to play with.
R.I.P.
inutile de vous dire qu'il s'est fait décendre
