Hello to all SatanDisk preorderers,

just to let you know we just upgraded to premium account at Paypal.

In practice it means EVERY payment you send via paypal now will be charged
with 3.4% + 0.35 Euro (on our side of course ;-) so since now your payment
will be 1-2 Euro more. The (pre)order system web will be update within a
few hours (only one sum of money will be shown).

So, all credit card buyers, feel free to send your payments -- they will be
accepted immediately.

All the others, send your money in usual way

Hello,

after a little delay we are happy we can announce you some news:

1. All SatanDisks are almost completely soldered - we need to solder just
two LEDs and program the chips. Hard to say how much it will take
but we don't expect more than 2 weeks to finish this work.

2. The cables type A are done, the cables type B are in development,
too (it's mostly hand-made work so the progress isn't as fast as we
could wish) -- we expect to finish all cables in one or two weeks.

3. There's also a progress on plastic covers for SatanDisks -- believe it
or not but this isn't done automatically We try to do in parallel
as many tasks as possible.

4. So we are approx. one week late against our official schedule. Another
two
weeks are reserved for beta testing but we can send some devices
earlier, i.e. if you're intersted to come to NAS party with them, etc...

5. There are still SOME devices left -- we've built a little more
devices than it was payed, just for sure (from time to time there are still
some
people who write they've never heard about SatanDisk until today so if
you know some friend who is still interested in the buy -- he can register
&
send money even now...

Hello to all SatanDisk customers,

from time to time someone asks what's the current status so we try to
describe
it in this mail:

1. SatanDisk is really produced by now and it's in beta testing stage. That

means some people had already received it and can test it if it works for
them and report bugs immediately.

2. Most of the betatesters use this thread at atari-forum.com so you can
check
for yourself: http://www.atari-forum.
com/viewtopic.php?t=9975(note if you
want to be able to see pictures / attachments you need to login)

3. Betatesting brings its results, we found some technical problems which
needs to fixed (Jookie, author of hardware, is working on it). So the
schedule needs to be changed a little bit.

4. There's another thing, and this is very important, which cause schedule
to
move about one month -- both me and Xi will be not available for this time
period (30.6.2007 - 26.7.2007) for the support since we are on the trip
across Russia and China where we'll no chance to answer your emails... In
fact, it isn't such big tragedy in matter of receiving your SatanDisks
since
Jookie told us he needs approx. two weeks to one month to find and fix that

bugs. So only thing you have to live with is there wont be reply to your
mail
since the end of July..

However, you can always check the atari-forum.com for the betatester's
status
and in case of *VERY* important things concerning the SatanDisk (technical
ones, not the questions like 'hi, how it's going with SD', 'how it's going
with bugfixing', 'can i order another satandisk' etc) you can contact
Jookie,
the author of SatanDisk, at: joo@kie.sk. But keep in mind he has nothing to

do with sales and distribution! It's only "good coincidence" we know each
other and that he can keep his eye on our customers, i.e. you, if you go
into
some serious troubles with SatanDisk..

unit(s) as soon as possible.

Si je vous comprend bien, le SATAN DISK est un lecteur de carte mémoire (pas SD).
J'ai une connaissance qui en à reçu 2 de hollande mais je ne sais pas si il va les tester sur un FALCON ou autre.
Les cartes mémoire sont assez chères si on prend des cartes à accès rapide (aussi rapide qu'un HD +- 100 E pour une 4 Go).
D'après ce que j'ai vu, ils sont équipés d'un connecteur IDE normal, d'un mini IDE (comme le FALCON) et d'un connecteur alimentation genre lecteur de disquette.
Ce qui est bien dans ce modèle c'est que la carte mémoire glisse dans 2 guides latéraux ce qui empêche une mauvaise insertion.

Strider, le FALCON a bien en interne un mini IDE puisque les HD de PC portable fonctionnent dessus.

Je demanderais bien à mon ami, quand il passera chez moi de venir avec un SATANDISK pour essayer.
Je lui envois un mail de ce pas.
